I contacted Rick to demolish and rebuild my garage as well as giving me estimates on remodeling my bathroom and kitchen. He responded quickly and we made an appointment to meet and go over the project. We met two days later and he looked over the areas that I needed to have either rebuilt or remodeled. I was delighted when his bids came in quickly. I reviewed the details with him and we decided to start on the biggest project, which was to demolish and rebuild my garage that was beginning to collapse. The garage had been red tagged by my homeowners insurance company as too dangerous to use.

We had poor drainage around the house and water damage inside. Rick’s crew lowered the patio and walkway on two sides of the house by a few inches, which involved cement and brickwork, and re-routed some drains. They drilled weep holes in our retaining walls and installed a French drain along the top of one retaining wall. They also replaced the sprinkler heads with drip lines to reduce the amount of water being used and ensuring that water no longer sprayed against the house; and replaced a couple of dripping hose bibs. They removed a large tree that had sent a root underneath the house. Inside, they replaced damaged drywall, repainted several rooms, and did some electrical work. They removed the kitchen cabinets and appliances in order to replace the damaged pipe, and reinstalled the cabinets and appliances. A subcontractor also replaced extensive amounts of hardwood floor.

Our main project was removing an eyesore of a deck and replacing it with a brick patio and a pergola. Our house is about 80 years old and Rick found similar aged reclaimed brick for the patio and reclaimed wood for the pergola. We also had Azteca 111 add some finishing touches like a small gate and they converted an iron gate into a mechanical gate with wood for extra security and privacy. We had leftover materials (mostly reclaimed bricks) and Rick and his team were great about suggesting ways to use the brick throughout the yard. That extra effort really provided some eye-catching finishing touches in the yard.

We did a full home remodel including kitchen, bathrooms, living room and bedrooms approximately 1400 square feet. The breakdown was about $50K for the kitchen, $40K for the two bathrooms (including steam shower and jacuzzi tub), $50K for the bedrooms with walk-in closets and $40K for the living room/dining room/den. The total expense was right on and they performed the work in a timely manner. All work was professional and my house is the talk of the neighborhood!

We completely redid the backyard (approximately 1,000 square feet of brick work). They removed an existing concrete patio and porch and replaced it with brick forms and built several large brick planters along with designing and installing a new pool fence. They also completely redid the irrigation system and backyard lighting and built several benches around existing oak trees.
